WHO WE ARE
We are a Presbyterian Church Family in Scarva Street, Banbridge, Co. Down, founded in 1829.
We have a gospel heritage and are evangelical in faith and practice.
We are glad to welcome visitors.
To know God the Father through faith in Jesus Christ, His eternal Son, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
To encourage others to know Him too.
To worship God together as a family of faith and to honour Him in the way we live each day.
To grow in our understanding of who God is through the teaching of His Word.
To be faithful in prayer and committed to fellowship.
To show love to one another.
To offer hope to our community through the sharing of the Good News of Jesus Christ.
OUR CORE PRINCIPLES
The Bible is the authoritative Word of God, without error, and is all we need for faith and living.
Worship is God-honouring and the privilege and duty of everyone.
It should be focused and joyful.
A congregation should aspire to be a family of faith where everyone is equally valued and important.
Committed leaders inspire others to serve.
A growing Christian is a healthy Christian.
God deserves our best.
As a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland and part of Christ’s visible church on Earth, we are committed to the following:
We seek to glorify God and advance Christ’s Kingdom through a variety of services and activities designed to draw people of all ages and backgrounds to Him in saving faith.
We seek to be a welcoming caring, encouraging community of believing people, loving each other and serving Christ together.
We seek, as followers of Christ, to learn from Him and grow in His grace, through Bible study, prayer and acts of practical service.
We seek to be witnesses to Christ by our words and actions furthering His mission of salvation locally and world-wide.
In all of these we depend on the help of God through the Holy Spirit.
